Mahatma Gandhi Hospital has started its Regional Emergency and Trauma Center meant to save lives of the victims of road accidents and emergencies. This is the First trauma centre in the state approved by the Govt. of Rajasthan to deal with medico-legal cases including road traffic accident and post mortem under the Dept. of Forensic Medicine of MGUMST. The efficient and effective emergency department is having intensive care services, well equipped with diagnostics, radio-diagnostic facilities including CT Scan, MRI, ultra-sonography, hematology and fully equipped operation theaters manned by eminent professionals and experts round-the-clock.

The control measures as well as testing are done as per guidelines of the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT), World Health Organization, Drug Controller General of India & National Aids Control Society. The Blood is issued after thorough testing by most advanced equipment. The BLOOD TRANSFUSION SERVICES are always ready to meet any emergency 24x7. The MG Hospital Blood Bank also organizes blood donation drives & camps to voluntarily collect blood to issue the right component to the patient. The department has state of art 128 multislice CT scan first in the state.
MRI :-The department has a 1.5 Tesla MRI system to conduct MR different body parts including angiograms and MRS.
X-ray Facilities :-The department has following ultra modern equipments for most efficient patient care.
- Six fixed units of X-ray ranging from 300 mA to 800 mA with fluoroscopy and Imaging intensifier facilities. Six mobile units of 100 mA to provide facilities of X-ray bedside in emergency and various wards for sick patients.
- Two CR systems to meet the patients load and to provide quality x-rays. The department is also providing facilities of old types of routine x-rays and special investigations like barium studies IVP, HSG, MCU, RGU, etc.
- One Mammogram unit for providing the facilities of x-ray of breast

Mahatma Gandhi Hospital has very busy and effective forensic departments.
All road traffic accident cases from nearby areas are brought to the hospital by 108 Ambulance, Police and by local people. It is a popular belief in the community that prompt attention is paid to these cases at the hospital irrespective of financial or social status of the victim.
Two full time Medical Jurists are available round the clock to provide dedicated services. On an average approximately 1500 MLC reports are prepared in a year. This centre caters for 6 police stations of Jaipur and covers the largest client population after SMS Hospital. The center is equipped with 18 deep freezers for preservation of dead bodies. Unique identification band system is followed for proper identification of bodies. Approximately 300 postmortem are done in a year.
In addition to this, significant work is being done in Toxicology. On an average one patient a day is admitted to hospital with poisoning, and is managed accordingly.
