Overview

With the exponential growth of the Hospital, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College established its new center “Sri Ram Cancer Center” in the year 2016. It was the epochal turning point of the hospital which attracts approx. 2500 patients monthly with 350 new patients in the department of Medical Oncology. Individual consultants have their focus on their respective fields of interest and are experts in various Chemotherapy protocols as well as targeted therapy with the regular use of monoclonal antibodies and immune checkpoint inhibitors for the treatment of advanced and metastatic tumors. Our cancer research center and consultants always aim at providing state-of-the-art Standard Treatment for all kinds of cancer. All patients are assessed by a multi-disciplinary tumor board and then assigned the best possible treatment. The Medical Oncology department also focuses on clinical research for encouraging innovations in cancer therapy and treatment procedures. Our department collaborated with different NGOs for counselling, providing funds, Medicines, and care for cancer patients.

One of the main strengths of our cancer center is the availability and seamless integration of all super-specialities of medicine (cardiology, neurology, nephrology, gastro-enterology, hepatology, critical care, internal medicine, etc) all under one roof. Services of allied specialties is big help in managing treatment and disease related complications in a timely manner.

The department of Medical Oncology have 02 (two) DM Seats per year from the Batch 20-21, approved by NMC. The postgraduate student are trained in various aspects of Oncology. Our department conducts academics activities like Multidisciplinary Tumour Board, Grand Rounds, Faculty Lecture, Journal Club, Soft skill training, Bone Marrow Transplant, Critical Care tumour Board, Molecular Tumour Board, Genetic Clinic, Nurse’s Training programme (Hands-on training/ workshop), Palliative Care services, Outreach activities on regular basis.

  • 350 cases have been discussed in Multispeciality Tumour Board from the year 2019.
  • 10 bedded facility of state of art Bone Marrow Transplant unit started on 09/02/2022.
  • 1st Allogenic Stem Cell Transplant patient of Aplastic Anemia, engrafted & discharged on 28th September 2022.
  • Faculty is invited to Participate in Various Guest Lectures, Panel Discussion & Key note Lecture in National and International Oncology Conferences.
  • Awarded for Outstanding Services under Mukhymantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana by Rajasthan State Health Assurance Agency, Rajasthan on Ayushman Bharat Diwas 2022, Dated 23rd Sept., 2022.
  • Healthcare Award, 2022 for Honouring Ground breakers of the Health Ecosystem by The Economic Times, New Delhi.
