Overview
The rapid boom in the tradition of knowledge in the field of medical science, associated with equally rapid advances in technology, has necessitated the further division of basic specialties like medicine and surgery into superspecialties, thus, culminating into a new subspecialty Hepato-pancreatico-biliary (HPB) Surgery.
The Department of HPB surgery came into existence at MGMCH at the beginning of 2021 with the permission given by the National Medical Commission (NMC) for starting one seat in MCh in HPB surgery.
