Department of Neonatology

Overview

The department provides level 3 NICU care to sick and preterm neonates including ventilation, central lines, parenteral nutrition etc. We have 20 bedded NICUWe focus on developmentally supportive care by starting early feeding to premature babies, unrestricted access to the mother, Kangaroo mother care etc. We also transport sick neonates from distant places. We have high frequency ventilators, non-invasive ventilators and in house 2 D Echo machine for intensive care.

  • Provide care for premature infants; follow-ups for high risk babies
  • 4 Ventilators including high frequency ventilators
  • 3 non-invasive ventilators
  • Incubator
  • Intensive phototherapy
  • All NICU procedures including Double Volume Exchange Transfusion (DVET), central line placement, parenteral fluids, peritoneal dialysis and invasive blood pressure monitoring
  • Functional Echo Cardiography, and Ultra Sonography of brain
  • Developmentally Supportive Care and management of pain & KMC in infants
  • Transportation of neonates from distant places
  • Therapeutic hypothermia for asphyxiated babies
  • Early enteral nutrition/ parenteral nutrition
  • Human milk bank
