Department of Physiology

Overview

The faculty strives to impress upon student the importance of learning various physiological processes involved in the maintenance of homeostasis of the body so as to have a better understanding of the diseased state. Faculty members are enthusiastic regarding the research and try to make use of the available resources of the department & institution to achieve their goals.

  • The department is well-equipped in terms of Lecture Theater, demonstration rooms, Practical laboratories (Hematology, Clinical Physiology & Research Laboratories) with all the necessary modern teaching aids.
  • The department actively engages to teach more than 500 students admitted in the university from different programs (MBBS, BDS, BPT, BOT and Paramedical courses) in an academic session.
  • The department also offers PG courses in M. Sc. (Medical Physiology), MD Physiology and Ph. D Physiology.
  • Academic calendar of teaching and learning is planned well in advance of sessions.
  • Extensive use of ICT enabled tools is done to make teaching student centric.
  • Skill based learning is emphasized which gives an edge to student for better skill acquisition.
  • As mandated by the National Medical Commission, most of the faculty members have undergone the following training: BCBR (BASIC COURSE IN BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH)
  • Medical education technology workshops
  • Curriculum implementation support programme.
  • The faculty members have been attending Conference, online workshops, webinars regularly.
